Power Outages

Thursday, November 03, 2011
Hey my readers, just an update that I've been itching to blog this week but have been unable to do so because I lost power Saturday evening in the nor'easter snowstorm and it hasn't been restored to my street yet. To say I'm pissed is an understatement, but I won't bore people who come here looking for retro fun with the details, just that I can't post much at the moment. Hopefully we'll be returning to our regularly scheduled retro programming this weekend!

Since I probably won't get to do Two Forgotten Friday Favorites tomorrow, I might as well have some fun with this and a couple of songs with a common theme: dancing in the dark. Hope to back online in the evenings soon!

  1. My heart goes out to you. We lost power, too, but for just 48 hours. Still, a huge inconvenience, and it was soooo cold. We were able to save all the freezer goodies - but a lot of stuff in the fridge had to be tossed.

  2. In the Baltimore area, we had a similar situation this year when a hurricane came through in late August. I count myself lucky; my power was out for only one day. A lot of folks here were out for more than a week. We all had to endure the local utility company's "shinola" on the radio, as they feigned sympathy for their "unfortunate customers". It just made you want to throw up. They are now using the hurricane repairs as an excuse to raise the rates again, I'm sure Pam your having to put up with the same stuff right now.
